Both become eligible for national Academic All-America honors
Montana State receiver Tanner Bleskin and safety Rob Marshall earned CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District 7 honors Thursday.
Bleskin, a Second Team Academic All-America last season, took a step toward a repeat by landing on the All-District team. Marshall is a first time choice. The Academic All-America and all-district teams are chosen by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America, with District 7 encompassing Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.
A senior from Great Falls, Bleskin carries a 3.85 grade point average in Microbiology. He is among the Big Sky Conference leaders in receptions (49) and yards (742) this season, and set the MSU record in both categories this fall. Marshall is a junior from Carrollton, Tex., who performed with distinction since entering the starting lineup in mid-season. He has 44 total tackles, tied for fifth on the team, with two fumbles recovered and one forced.
By virtue of earning Academic All-District honors, Bleskin and Marshall will be considered for national honors, to be announced on December 5.
