Second-year head coach Sara Schaub announced the signing of three high school players to National Letters of Intent.

Campbell, a 5-7 setter/defensive specialist, preps at
A two-time team captain, Campbell was named team most valuable player, in addition to garnering all-tournament accolades. She is also a three-time honor roll honoree.
“Along with Mackenzi's high skill level as a setter, she brings enthusiasm and energy to every team that she plays for,” Schaub said. “She has played on some of the best teams in the southern
“Mackenzi raises the level of the players around her by demanding they compete just as hard as she does,” Schaub added. “Mackenzi learned a high volleyball IQ at a young age from her mom and aunt who were both All-American setters at Stanford. We are excited to add a spit-fire player of her skill level and intensity to our team.”
Baker, a 5-7 defensive specialist/libero, preps at
Baker played club ball with the NorCal squad that captured the 2008 Junior Olympic National title in the National Division. Baker is the daughter of Kevin and Karen Baker of
“Nicole, to some extent, will be switching roles when she gets to campus in the fall,” Schaub said. “She has been a very successful outside hitter in both high school and club, but will primarily be a defensive player for us.
“I feel that much of her success at the outside hitting position is because of her great defensive and ball control skills mixed with her leadership characteristics,” Schaub added. “She's a player that a coach just feels they have to have on the court at all times. Being a smaller hitter in the front row has taught her how to find ways to win points. We look forward to her bringing that fighting personality to our Bobcat team.”
Spofford, a 6-1 middle blocker/outside hitter, preps at
To date, Spofford has tallied 447 kills, 106 blocks and 101 digs. A High Country Conference first team selection, she is a candidate for Idaho Gatorade Player of the Year accolades.
In addition, she is a two-time honor society selection. Spofford is the daughter of Bill and Nancy Spofford of
“Megan is a strong and athletic middle blocker that will help us add power and depth to our offense,” Schaub said. “She is very versatile and has some experience at the outside hitting position.
“Megan comes from a well respected high school program where we have found great players from in the past,” Schaub added. “We are excited to get her in the gym to see exactly how she will fit into all our offenses schemes.”
MSU has completed its fall recruiting season.
“We have taken a big step this year as a team but still need to learn how to win,” Schaub said. “These three players, mixed with our returning players, will lead to a winning combination of skill, experience and drive. In addition, they all have a very high level of commitment to academics and community involvement which make them an ideal fit for MSU volleyball.”
