At MSU (2023-24) Enters the spring season as the barrel racing leader in the Big Sky Region… also stands third in breakaway roping… two titles and two other runner-up finishes in barrel racing during the fall season… also won breakaway once with two other top 10 finishes. (2022-23) Reserve National Champion in barrel racing, helping lead the Cats to Reserve National Champion Women’s Team finish… won the third and short go-rounds at the CNFR, finishing 2nd in the first go and 7th in the second… finished 1st three times and 2nd another in the 10 Big Sky Region rodeos in barrel racing… five top 10 finishes in breakaway roping, as well. (2021-22) Finished 10th in barrel racing at the CNFR…. Big Sky Region barrel racing champion. (2020-21) CNFR National Champion barrel racer and Women’s Rookie of the Year… Big Sky Region barrel racing champion… part of the National Championship squad.
Rodeo Background: A three-time American qualifier, finishing in the top 30 twice, a two-time Junior American qualifier, a four-time Junior NFR qualifier, with three trips to the short go and three top 20 finishes and the 2020 Senior Barrel Racing Championship and overall champion… three-time junior barrel racing titlist and three-time junior all-around winner in the Montana amateur rodeo association… Ladies Barrel Racing and Ladies Breakaway Roping Rookie of the Year in 2018, winning the 1D average at the Jody Motley Memorial Barral Race that October… finished 2021 5th nationally in WPRA Resistol Rookie standings, including Rookie of the Year honors for the Montana Circuit… qualified for circuit finals in January, 2023, for the third time, leading the circuit.
Academics and Family: Studies marketing… the daughter of Deena and Rick Moeykens… Deena is an accomplished barrel racer, and Tayla was raised in a rodeo family… was her class valedictorian at Three Forks High… a second-generation college student who plans to enter private business upon graduation with the goal or ownership.
