Brittany Basye begins her 21st season as the head coach for the Bobcat women's golf program during the 2024-25 academic year.

Basye's arrival prior to the 2011-12 season marked her second stint with the Bobcats. The Billings, Montana, native served as head coach from 2000-2007 and as an assistant in 1999-2000.

The long-time Bobcat coach has coached twelve All-Big Sky Conference players. They include Kelly Gillum, who eventually went on to be named the 2009 Big Sky Conference Player of the Year, and was named to the All-Big Sky team for three seasons. Basye has also coached two-time All-Big Sky selection Scarlet Weidig, who holds the lowest (73.83, 2023-24) and third-lowest (74.78, 2022-23) single-season scoring averages in school history, and her daughter, Kameryn, who earned three all-conference nods from 2021-2023.

Her teams of late have been her best to date on the course. The 2023-2024 team broke their own record from 2022-2023 for best average, finishing with a mark of 297.10, besting the previous mark from a year prior of 302.50. All of MSU's best scoring averages by an individual on the program's all-time list have been achieved by Bobcats coached or recruited by Basye, including current record-holder Scarlet Weidig, who broke the individual scoring average record in 2022-23 (74.78) and broke it again in 2023-24 (73.83).

In 2023-2024, the Bobcats had four of the top eight best single-season scoring averages in program history, carded the five best 54-hole tournament scores in program history, and had six of the best seven 18-hole round scores in program history. The Cats broke records for low 54-hole team score (854), low 18-hole team score (276), and low individual 54-hole score (Scarlet Weidig, 205). Through just two seasons with the program, Weidig owns four individual victories, second in program history only to Jen McGregor (5, 1993-97).

The Bobcats carded the five best 54-hole tournament scores in program history this season, an incredible feat, and had six of the best seven 18-hole round scores in program history this season.

The program-low record for individual 18-hole round of 67 was matched on five occasions in 2023-2024, with Weidig accomplishing it on three occasions and Lauren Greeny doing it twice.

In her time at MSU, Basye's teams have been among the best academically and in the community among Bobcat athletic programs. She's coached 67 All-Big Sky Academic selections through the 2023-24 season and has had numerous student-athletes named WGCA All-American Scholars. The MSU program has earned mutliple NCAA Public Recognition Awards and is one of the best in Team GPA in the Athletic Department.

She has also been instrumental in the creation and development of the Battle at Old Works which ran for the third time to open the 2019-20 campaign. It was held in September at Anaconda's Old Works Golf Course and served as the lone NCAA Division I tournament held in the state of Montana.

Prior to MSU, Basye competed in the Players West Women's Mini Tour, which traveled throughout the United States. She also had the privilege of competing in the US Women's Open Championship in 1995 and the US Women's Amateur Championship in 1993 where she was a semifinalist.

In addition to her playing experience, she has also served as a club fitting specialist for Ping.

Basye is a 1995 graduate of the University of New Mexico, where she was a scholarship student-athlete for the Lobos. In 1994, she was the medalist at the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament and went on to be named the WAC Player of the Year and earn first team all-conference honors.

Basye currently resides in Bozeman and has three children; Haley, Kameryn, and Jackson.
