Shannon Tyree begins her second season as MSU’s Director of Football Administration, but she knows her way around Bobcat Athletics. Tyree came to MSU as an intern in Bobcat Sports Facilities and the Bobcat Ticket Office in August, 2016, and in December that year graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in sport and entertainment management. She became MSU’s Conference Housing and Event Coordinator in February 2017, assisting the school’s Auxiliary Services during the Covid-19 Pandemic, before joining Bobcat Football. She fulfills a variety of roles in her current position, including: Quarterback Club liaison, player parent liaison, Manager of the Bobcat Athletic Complex (BAC), budget tracker, manager of staff calendars and travel paperwork, help coordinate campus recruiting visits, and assist all walk-in visitors to the BAC.At South Carolina she worked as women’s basketball student manager under Coach Dawn Staley assisting with practice setup, drills and game day duties. She also aided College Game Day in a visit to Columbia. In her hometown of Olney, MD she worked with Our Lady of Good Counsel High School’s nationally-recognized football team. Shannon and her husband Lonnie enjoy outdoor activities.
