Bio
Montana State (2011) Enters the fall as a starting receiver. (2010) Honorable Mention All-Big Sky receiver as a junior… second on the team with 36 catches, 546 receiving yards, and 16.1 yards-per-catch, and tied for second with four touchdown catches…returned a team-high 12 punts… played in all 12 games, starting 11. (2009) Finished third on the team in catches (27) and yards (380) during his first season playing football full-time since high school… his three touchdown catches was tied for second on the team… missed the Sac State game with an injury… caught five passes for 69 yards and a TD against EWU… transferred to MSU from Oregon in January.
Oregon (2008) Saw no game action. (2007) Redshirted.
Lincoln A standout long jumper at Lincoln High in Portland, winning state titles as a senior (23-1.25 long jump, 47-8w triple jump) along with marks that would have landed him in the top 15 nationally (24-11, 48-10.5)… Portland Interscholastic League long jump and triple jump champion…caught 57 passes for 1,001 yards in 2007, with 10 touchdowns… lettered three times in basketball, twice in football… first team all-league and third team all-state choice, caught a 69-yard touchdown to help the team advance to the state title game.
Academics Majoring in cell biology and neuroscience with designs on medical school… volunteers at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital five hours a week in preparation for medical school.
Personal Born in Senegal, where he lived until he was eight, when his mother moved he and his brother to Portland… fluent in French and Spanish… one of two children of Elise Ekombele.
