Montana State (This Year) Competing for starting honors once fall camp begins. (2014) Made his first career start vs. North Dakota... logged tackles in three of MSU’s first five games...registered sacks against A-State and EWU... missed UC Davis with injury. (2013) Played in six games without statistics… served as the team’s short snapper on field goals for the season’s final five games… missed two mid-season games with injuries, and first two games due to suspension. (2012) Saw limited action as a defensive lineman. (2011) Redshirted.
High School Earned All-State honors as a tight end twice and defensive end once at Class C Drummond… earned invitations to the Montana Shrine, Class C, and Mon-Dak All-Star games.
Academics Elementary education major… two-time Academic All-State choice in high school.
Personal Born Nate Patrick Bignell on February 22, 1993 in Helena… one of four children of Joe and Patti Bignell… his father is a former Bobcat All-America… brother Parker spent a season with the Bobcats, and brother Mac is a current MSU linebacker… one cousin, Clay, is a former all-league Bobcat linebacker currently on the football staff at Northwestern, while cousin Brian is a former MSU defensive tackle.
