Montana State Skiers Finish Fourth at Colorado Invitational

Simon Chappaz, Grey Barbier pace Bobcats
(Feb. 14, 2026) – Five Bobcats finished among the top 12 in the 7.5K Classic Nordic races, including four men, to pace Montana State to fourth place in the final standings of the 2026 Colorado Invitational ski meet.
Montana State's men scored the most points in the Nordic competition, 149, narrowly out-distancing Colorado's 145. MSU's women finished fifth in both Alpine and Nordic points, and the men's team placed fourth in Alpine.
Simon Chappaz finished eighth on Saturday at Steamboat Spring's Howlsen Hill with a mark of 21:32.6, just edging teammate Grey Barbier, whose 21:39.9 was good for ninth. Gavin Galyardt placed 11th (21:47.2) to round out MSU's points team. Fredrik Nilsen was 12th (21:56.1), while Woody West finished 26th (23:38.6).
Felicie Chappaz led the Bobcat women's squad by finishing 12th with a mark of 25:15.8. Ella Ronci finished 22nd (26:38.8), while Maeve MacLeod's 26:41.6 was good for 23rd. Ellinor Ness marked a 27:03.01 for 24th, and Sabine Comeau finished in 27th (28:29.1). Rosie Whittington-Evans did not start for MSU.
Montana State hosts the RMISA Championships February 26-28.
