Bobcat Ski Team Stands in 4th Place After Day One of 20026 RMISA Invitational

Simon Chappaz and Felicie Chappaz lead the Cats
(Jan. 4, 2026) – Montana State stands in fourth place out of six teams after one day of the Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Skiing Association (RMISA) Invitational at Lake Placid, N.Y.
Simon Chappaz finished fifth in 13:03.3 and Benjamin Barbier sixth (13:03.7) in the Men's 10K Classic race to pace the Bobcats. Gavin Galyardt finished 21st (13:40.0) and Woody West 24th (14:09.6) to round out MSU's scoring in the men's race.
In the women's 10K competition, Felicie Chappaz finished 12th in 15:41.5 and Katey Houser 13th (15:40.9) to lead Montana State. Maeve MacLeod placed 16th (15:53.4), Elinor Ness 22nd (16:36.9), Rosie Whittington-Evans 23rd (16:53.3) and Sabine Comeau 25th (17:23.1).
