MSU Nordic Team Stands Third at Utah Invitational

Katey Houser paces Bobcats
(Jan. 25, 2026) – Montana State's Nordic Ski Team remained in third place after the two events at the Utah Invitational at Midway, Utah on Sunday.
Bobcat senior Katey Houser finished the Women's 15K Classic mass start event in sixth place with a mark of 44:06.2 to lead Montana State. Maeve MacLeod finished 13th (45:57.1) and Felicie Chappaz 16th to score points for the Cats. Ella Ronci finished 19th with a mark of 47:56.1.
Simon Chappaz led the Bobcat men's team by finishing eighth in 37:22.1, with Grey Barbier just two spots behind at 37:22.6. Fredrik Nilsen also scored points for the Cats by finishing 22nd (39:30.4). Gavin Galyardt finished 28th (40:14.5).
Montana State completes the Nordic segment of the Utah Invitational with 258 points, trailing Colorado (369 points) and Utah (343). The Cats hold a narrow lead over Denver (253 points).
The Utah Invitational concludes next weekend with the Alpine events at Park City, Utah.
