Montana State Student-Athletes Post Strong Fall Semester

Bobcats' academic success matches achievements in competition
BOZEMAN, Mont. (Jan. 22, 2026) – Montana State student-athletes enjoyed success in the classroom that matched the achievements in competition, according to statistics issued by the school's Director of Athletics Leon Costello on Thursday.
Bobcat student-athletes compiled a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.44 out of 4.0 during the fall semester, with 199 earning either President's List (perfect 4.0 GPA) or Dean's List (3.50-3.99) honors. Of the department's nearly 350 NCAA student-athletes, 231 (or 81 percent) earned a GPA of at least 3.0.
The Bobcat women's cross country and golf teams led the way with cumulative team GPAs of 3.789, while the women's basketball team posted a 3.782 GPA. Six Bobcat teams recorded team GPAs of at least 3.70.
