“This weekend gave us positive momentum going into the off-season,” Barrett added. “We are looking forward to getting to work and preparing for the spring. There are exciting times ahead for this group.”
The Montana State women's tennis team concluded its fall season at the Gonzaga Invitational over the weekend at the Stevens Center in Spokane, Wash. Combined, the Bobcats picked up eight victories in singles and doubles over the three-day tournament.

"The Gonzaga Invite was a great opportunity to get more high-level match play for our student-athletes," said first-year head coach Hailey Barrett. "I'm so proud of how they competed and supported each other throughout the whole event.

Highlighting the weekend for the Bobcats was the singles play of sophomore Nia Gelashvili. In quarterfinal action, Gelashvili defeated Gonzaga's Brooke Bittner, 7-5, 6-3.

Junior walk-on Elle Middleton of Boulder, Colo., recorded her first victory as a Bobcat, combining with Kavya Khirwar in the Red draw in doubles play. The duo dropped its first match, before working its way back to the finals of the consolation bracket with a 6-4 decision over Eastern Washington's Sara Vasic and Leandra Nizetic.
