Dear Bobcats, Happy Thanksgiving! From all of us in Bobcat Athletics, THANK YOU to our fans, donors, coaches, student-athletes, and staff. We have so much to be thankful for and YOU make being a Bobcat so special. I hope everyone has a joyous Thanksgiving holiday. Cat-Griz Weekend It is always a great day to be a Bobcat, but what a weekend it was in Bozeman! MSU Volleyball got the weekend started right with a 3-0 sweep of UM. Nearly 4,000 fans packed Worthington Arena Friday night and sparked the team to season sweep of the Griz. The win also solidified the team's spot in the Big Sky Conference tournament held this week in Sacramento, CA and you can watch every match here. Good luck to MSU Volleyball! On Saturday, the Great Divide trophy came back to Bozeman after a 34-11 beatdown of UM. Not only that, but the win also clinched the first 12-0 regular season in Big Sky Conference history! The atmosphere in Bobcat Stadium was electric as it has been all year. We need that same energy throughout the playoffs! If you haven't already done so, purchase your playoff tickets here and get all the FCS playoff information here. Then on Sunday, the football team, coaches, staff, and fans gathered in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse for the 2024 FCS Playoff Selection Show. The Bobcats landed the #1 seed for the first time in school history and home field advantage throughout the FCS Playoffs. Congrats to Coach Vigen and the entire football program for an unprecedented regular season. Today, the Big Sky Conference announced the 2024 all-conference teams along with players and coach of the year awards and the Bobcats were well represented:
To finish the weekend, the men's basketball kicked off the Basketball Traveler's Invitational inside the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse with a 78-58 win over Southern Mississippi. Last night, the Bobcats swept the Invitational by dominating Abilene Christian 85-59. Join us on Saturday as the Bobcats host CSU Northridge in the Brick at 1pm. Other MSU Sports In Coach Binford's 20th season leading MSU women's basketball, the team is off to a hot start currently sitting at 4-1. They will be back in the Brick on Wednesday, December 4 when they host South Dakota. The team is fast-paced and exciting to watch. Get your tickets here to enjoy Bobcat basketball all winter long. Congratulations to the men's and women's cross-country teams for both finishing second at the Big Sky Conference Championships and seventh and tenth respectively at the NCAA Mountain Regional. Men's and women's tennis wrapped up a successful fall season as did women's golf. Bobcat Rodeo wrapped up the fall season in Dillion and both are ranked #1 in the Big Sky Region and 3rd and 10th in the nation, respectively. Congratulations Keely Cashman as she was designated an NCAA elite student-athlete and MSU ski teams kickoff their season as three Bobcats will race in the 2024-25 FIA Alpine World Cup. Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund Scholarships continue to be the lifeblood of any athletic department, including ours. The costs to provide a first-class experience for our Bobcat student-athletes continue to rise, thus the need for supporting the Bobcat Club has never been more important. As the fundamental resource to recruiting and retaining championship caliber student-athletes, the Bobcat Club is critical to the success of our athletic programs. Since 2016, athletic scholarship expenses have risen more than $1M, and your support of the Bobcat Club and of our student-athletes is more essential than ever. With the Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund generating over $3M annually, we are only $300,000 away from fully funding all our scholarship expenses entirely through the Bobcat Club. To help us close and eliminate that gap, please consider making an end of the year gift to support Bobcat student-athletes by clicking here. Thank You Thank you for your continued support of Bobcat Athletics. We are living in an unprecedented time of success at MSU, and there has never been more athletic success than the past 8 ½ years. That does not happen by accident. It takes great people believing in a vision and working together to accomplish goals. Montana State University is special, and it is on us to keep the momentum going. As always, "it's a great day to be a Bobcat!" Again, Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Bobcat Athletics! Go Cats! |
