Bobcat Student-Athletes Cap Outstanding Year with Record-High GPA

Montana State accentuates athletic achievements with academic superlatives
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State student-athletes recorded a 3.37 average NCAA grade point average during the just-completed spring semester, the highest in program history, MSU Director of Athletics Leon Costello announced.
For the semester, 42 student-athletes made the President's List for receiving a grade point average of 4.0, 127 earned mention on the Dean's List for a 3.50 grade point average, and 273 of Bobcat Athletics' 297 NCAA student-athletes earned (80 percent) at least a 3.0 GPA.
"What another outstanding year in the classroom for our Bobcat student-athletes," Costello said. "After achieving our highest cumulative GPA of 3.37, they continue to prove you can have success in the classroom and competition. I want to thank our Bobcat coaches and academic staff their continued emphasis on academic achievement and our student-athletes for their dedication in the classroom."
Montana State's women's cross country team led Bobcat Athletics with a 3.677 grade point average, while the men's cross country team posted a 3.404 GPA. The Bobcat women's golf team logged a 3.611 while finishing second in the Big Sky.
The 2022-23 academic year saw Bobcat student-athletes achieve great things in competition, as well. MSU won Big Sky championships in football and men's and women's basketball, won the men's Big Sky All-Sports Trophy while finishing second in the women's competition, and harvested many individual All-America and conference championship awards.
