The 2022-23 athletic season is off to a great start! Here is a quick look at some of the highlights:
- Last week, MSU Football won in exciting fashion at Eastern Washington for the second straight year to move to 3-1.
- Bobcat Volleyball has started Big Sky action undefeated, and Lauren Lindseth was named Big Sky Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
- Men's and Women's Cross Country are ranked #5 and #9 respectively in the Mountain Region while the men hold the #21 national ranking.
- Women's Golf finished second in their first two tournaments and sophomore Scarlet Weidig Velasquez won both tournaments individually, earning Big Sky Conference Co-Women's Golfer of the Week.
- Bobcat Tennis and Rodeo have started strong, and results can be viewed on our website.
New this week:
- The Brawl of the Wild Series kicks off with the volleyball match tomorrow night, September 30 at 7:00pm. The match will be held in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse as we try to break the Big Sky Volleyball attendance record. All tickets are only $5 or $3 when you buy 10 or more. A record crowd is expected, so buy tickets ahead of time and get there early.
- MSU football teams hosts UC Davis at Bobcat Stadium this Saturday for Parent/Family weekend. The game is SOLD OUT but can be seen on ESPNU starting at 8:15pm. Click here for a reminder on Bobcat Stadium entrance policies.
- Coming off championship seasons for both teams, Bobcat men's and women's basketball teams officially started practice on Monday. Season tickets are on sale now and single game tickets go on sale October 17. You don't want to miss any of the action inside the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse this winter.
- Men's and women's cross country teams head to South Bend, IN to run at the Joe Piane Notre Dame Invite.
Looking ahead:
- Our annual Blue & Gold Gala is a premier fundraising event that supports scholarships for all Bobcat student-athletes. Join us on October 21 and help us raise $500,000 to support all Bobcat programs. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here.
- Next weekend is Homecoming and we look forward to seeing many of you at the various campus events that are planned. We have limited standing room only tickets available for the football game versus Idaho State so get them now if you don't have yours.
- Our first basketball game will be an exhibition game versus MSU-Billings on Sunday, October 30. Bring the kids as MSU will throw a Halloween Party at the game!!
As always, it's a great day to be a Bobcat!
