A letter from Montana State Director of Athletics Leon Costello
Dear Bobcats,
As the new academic year begins this week, we are filled with anticipation and excitement. Last week, we hosted our first athletic event on campus with fans since March 2020 when MSU Volleyball battled TCU in an exhibition match. More than 1,000 fans cheered on the Bobcats and it felt like old times. Shroyer was shaking and it was a great feeling to be surrounded by all our Bobcat friends; we've also seen a record number of football season tickets sold already. These are great indicators that we are in for a special year. With that being said, get your tickets for your favorite Bobcat teams today!
Earlier this month, we launched season ticket renewals for men's and women's basketball with a deadline of Friday, October 1 to renew. New season tickets are also available to purchase. Both teams are in pursuit of conference championships and NCAA tournament appearances, and after great seasons last year, the Brick will be the place to be this winter. Digital renewals were sent via email in early August and your paper renewals should hit your mailboxes within the next two weeks. When you review your season ticket renewal form this year, you will see a new line item - a required seat contribution to the Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund. A standard with football season tickets for many years now, the required seat contribution for basketball will go directly towards our scholarship expenses for our 350+ student-athletes here at Montana State. You can click here to renew your seats or purchase new tickets today.
The annual Gold Rush game is quickly approaching. The support we have seen from the community as our seasons start up again has been remarkable. There are only 500 tickets remaining for the game on September 11th versus Drake. Get yours today and help us sell out Bobcat Stadium! Tickets for the Eastern Washington and Montana away games will be on sale to Bobcat Club members starting on September 20, so watch your emails for more information.
MSU Volleyball returns to Shroyer Gym when they host the Bobcat Classic September 2-4. Cheer on your Bobcats as they take on Arkansas, Portland, and Utah State. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.
We encourage all fans to review the clear bag policies as well as the new mobile ticket steps in order to be prepared for game days. Bobcat Athletics is implementing mobile tickets for all sporting events and wants to ensure a smooth process while entering any of our venues. Make sure your mobile ticket is downloaded into your mobile wallet prior to arriving at an event. Please visit msubobcats.com/clearbags or msubobcats.com/tickets for more information.
As excitement builds for the fall seasons, it's important to remember the critical role our Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund plays in supporting our 350+ student-athletes in their athletic and academic goals here at Montana State University. Funds raised through various avenues – like season ticket required seat contributions, the Blue & Gold Gala, Bobcat Club specialty license plates, and philanthropic gifts – directly impact scholarship expenses, including tuition, nutritional and medical support, and more.
The Bobcat Club is holding two upcoming events. Mark your calendars for Friday, September 10, for the Annual Sonny Holland Golf Tournament here in Bozeman and Friday, October 22, for the Annual Blue & Gold Gala, held in the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. You can click here for more information on both events and to learn more about the impact of your attendance at events like these.
The Grand Opening of the Bobcat Athletic Complex will take place on Gold Rush Saturday, September 11 at 11am at the BAC. Join us for a historic day as we open the facility that corresponded with the largest athletic fundraising campaign in Bobcat history.
In April, we announced Bobcat athletic events will be conducted at full capacity. As a university community, we have worked very hard to get to this point. The access and availability of the COVID-19 vaccine has allowed us to plan to see each other in person to cheer on our favorite Bobcat teams. Help us ensure we can continue to host events at full capacity. Please read the latest message from President Waded Cruzado here.
Here is to a great start of the new year! We can't wait to see you on campus.
In Bobcat Spirit,
Leon Costello
