Bobcats also learn of three regional/national TV games...
BOZEMAN, Montana – Two Bobcats landed on the 2021 Preseason All-Big Sky team, announced Monday after a vote of the league's coaches and media. Those groups each project Tuiasosopo, Andersen, and their MSU teammates to finish fourth in the conference in 2021.
The Bobcats did not compete in 2020, but in 2019 advanced to the FCS Playoffs Semifinals and ended the season ranked fourth nationally. Eight starters on offense and five on defense from that squad, including All-America linebacker Troy Andersen. Coaches' and Media polls are below.
Andersen and Tuiasosopo each for their senior seasons as decorated players. Andersen is a former Big Sky Freshman of the Year (2017) as a running back, and was First Team All-Big Sky playing primarily as a quarterback (2018) and linebacker (2019). He enters 2021 as MSU's starting Will linebacker.
Tuiasosopo earned Third Team All-Big Sky honors as an offensive guard in 2019, his junior season, and he enters 2021 as a third-year starter. The Bobcats, with three returning offensive line starters this fall, led the Big Sky in most rushing yards and fewest sacks allowed in 2019.
The Bobcats also learned the team's regional and national television schedule for 2021. ESPNU picked up the showdown between defending Big Sky champion Weber State and the Cats in Ogden, and moved the game from Saturday to Friday, October 15, with an 8 pm kickoff. Montana State's Homecoming game against Cal Poly (October 9, 2 pm) and the Cat-Griz game (November 20, time to be determined) each air on ROOT Sports.
Montana State's first preseason camp under first-year coach Brent Vigen begins on August 6.
