A letter from Montana State Director of Athletics Leon Costello
Dear Bobcats,
On Friday, October 8, the entire Bobcat community celebrated the grand opening of the Bobcat Athletic Complex. I appreciate all who attended and the 525 donors that made the project a reality. This is a gamechanger for our entire athletic department and wouldn't be possible without the great support of the Bobcat community. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU!
The fourth annual Blue & Gold Gala is this Friday. After holding this event virtually last year, this weekend feels even more special than usual. I am looking forward to seeing many of you, hearing stories from our student-athletes, and spending a wonderful evening together supporting our Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund. We also encourage everyone – not just those attending the Gala – to browse and bid on our great selection of silent auction items.
After last Friday's win over Weber State, the Bobcat Football team is now 4-0 in Big Sky Conference play and have won six games in a row for the first time in ten years. Only two regular season home games remain for the 2021 season and we need your help to pack Bobcat Stadium! We've extended the 'Cats Win, You Win' ticket special through the end of the week so that you can purchase any seat in Bobcat Stadium for just $25 (use promo code GOCATSGO). This promo is good for either of the final home games.
I can't emphasize enough how critical you are in creating a home field advantage within Bobcat Stadium; join us as we chase a Big Sky Conference Championship. Also, as the weather gets a little cooler, we encourage you to revisit our fan guide, which includes guidelines like properly disposing of your ashes in the tailgate lot, the clear bag policy, and more.
This Saturday, we celebrate 'Pack the Place in Pink,' a Montana organization dedicated to helping women during their fight with breast cancer. Please wear pink and click here to learn more about the admirable work this group does, led by Bobcat Hall-of-Famer and breast cancer survivor Vicki Carle. Our final home game on November 13 will see us celebrate Ag Appreciation Day, as well as our batch of seniors who will be playing their final regular season home game as Bobcats.
Volleyball is also approaching the end of their home season. There's just four more opportunities to Shake Shroyer! Our next home match is next Tuesday, Oct. 26, against the Griz and we anticipate a large crowd, so we ask that you arrive early to get your seats (you can also buy your tickets ahead of time here). While our golf and tennis teams are winding down their fall schedules, our cross country teams are getting prepared to compete at the Big Sky Conference Championships next weekend. The men's team is nationally ranked for the first time in 17 years! I look forward to seeing all of our fall teams vie for a chance to win a Big Sky title over the next few weeks.
It's hard to believe but basketball season is here. Our first exhibition of the season is Monday, October 25, when men's basketball takes on Providence. Your presence in the Brick last year was sorely missed and we are so grateful to have you back. Season tickets for men's and women's basketball are being delivered digitally this week, so be sure to keep an eye on your emails. Single game tickets go on sale next Monday, October 25.
Montana State University's annual Giving Day has been set for February 17-18 this year, and we've set our goal of raising $30,000 from 250+ different donors those two days. Please mark your calendars! This initiative is one of many in our Three to Win Campaign, the biggest annual fund campaign we have ever launched here at Bobcat Athletics. Each and every one of you plays a role in getting us to $3 million annually by 2024. Whether you attend the Gala, buy season tickets, participate in Giving Day, buy the Bobcat Club license plate, or support the Bobcat Club Annual Scholarship Fund in any other number of ways, every dollar we raise directly impacts our student-athletes in their quest for excellence, both in competition and in the classroom. We are grateful for your continued support!

Leon Costello
