Bobcat Defensive End Kyle Finch Earns CoSIDA Academic All-America Honors

2019 marks the ninth year in this century that a Bobcat has earned CoSIDA Academic All-America
BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State defensive end Kyle Finch, a junior from Dillon, Montana, earned First Team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors on Monday.
The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) selects all-region teams, and from that list the All-America squad is selected. Finch has played in all 13 games for the Bobcats, recording 12 tackles, including 0.5 for a loss. He is a mechanical engineering major who carries a 4.0 cumulative grade point average. The team is comprised of 51 Division I football players, and Finch is one of 21 with a 4.0 GPA.
Finch becomes the 14th Bobcat honored by college sports' most prestigious academic award program, the first since receiver Mitch Herbert in 2017. This year's Academic All-America of the Year is Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert, Mitch Herbert's brother. Finch is one of five Big Sky players honored, although he's the only member of the First Team. That is the second-highest total in league history.
