Bobcats Land 33 on Big Sky Fall All-Academic Team

The Big Sky announced its 2018 Fall All-Academic Team on Thursday and 33 Montana State student-athletes were recognized for their performance in the classroom and in competition
OGDEN, Utah – The Big Sky Conference announced the members of the 2018 Fall All-Academic teams for football, volleyball, soccer and men's and women's cross country on Thursday. The league had a total of 579 student-athletes recognized for the fall season.
"Academic success is a high priority in the Big Sky," said Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill. "To see our student-athletes achieve greatness in the classroom and in their sport is a testament to the hard work and dedication that our schools strive to attain year after year. I'm proud to see our student-athletes continue to shine."
Montana State had 33 honored as all-academic selections. The Bobcats' average student-athlete GPA was 3.15 following the fall semester. Eighty-six student-athletes were named to their respective Dean's Lists and 52 Bobcats achieved all A's and A-'s.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team's competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed team; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.
