A letter from Montana State Director of Athletics Leon Costello
Dear Bobcats,
As we approach the middle of November and the Thanksgiving holiday, there is so much in Bobcat Athletics to be thankful for.
At the beginning of this month, we held the inaugural Blue and Gold Gala inside Worthington Arena with over 400 of our most passionate Bobcat supporters. We showcased our amazing student-athletes, coaches and athletic staff while raising over $150,000 for student-athlete scholarships. I need to thank our donors, guests and volunteers for making this night possible. Stay tuned for a Save the Date for the 2019 Blue and Gold Gala.
Speaking of supporting MSU Athletics, in October we publicly announced a $2 million anonymous gift towards Phase One of our Athletics Facilities Master Plan. I want to thank everyone who has supported the vision of helping to develop MSU student-athletes athletically and academically by donating to the project. A very special thank you goes out to the anonymous donors for pushing us closer to our goal of $16 million to complete Phase One. This remains a top priority for Bobcat Athletics and the work to secure more funds continues. To donate today or find out more information about Phase One, click here .
It's Cat-Griz week! While we all know how important this game is, let's also not forget it is a time to help others in need by donating non-perishable food items in the Can the Griz food drive. It's also our chance to keep the Great Divide trophy in Bozeman for a third straight year, earn two points in the Brawl of the Wild Series presented by Town Pump, potentially earn a sport in the FCS Playoffs, all while helping a great cause.
MSU Volleyball will close out the regular season home schedule tonight when they face Idaho State. The team ranks in the top 50 nationally in attendance and has qualified for the Big Sky Conference Tournament in Greeley, CO. Get your tickets to support the team one last time in Shroyer on Senior Night here.
I'd like to congratulate Ty Mogan (men's cross country) for qualifying to the NCAA Championship and Kelsi Lasota (women's cross country) for finishing runner-up at the Big Sky Championships. I would also like to thank all of the student-athletes and coaches that competed during the Fall season for their hard work and dedication. We are proud of your accomplishments and your pursuit to be the best you can be.
Basketball has started in The Brick! With the holidays just around the corner, Bobcat basketball tickets make great gifts. Don't miss any of the action and purchase your tickets here .
Finally, as Thanksgiving nears, all of us within Bobcat Athletics want to thank our alumni, fans, donors and friends for giving MSU student-athletes the opportunity to compete and earn an education at Montana State University. We appreciate your contributions to our student-athletes' experience from donating to the Bobcat Club, purchasing tickets or cheering us on from your favorite viewing locations. We wish you all a very safe and happy Thanksgiving holiday and are thankful every day for opportunities we receive from being a part of the Bobcat family.
Thank you and Go Cats!
