MSU adds games in 2018, 2021, 2022
Montana State renews acquaintances with an old football rival and begins series with two new ones as Bobcat football announced three future non-conference opponents Tuesday.
The Bobcats' 2018 schedule came into full focus with the addition of Wagner from the Northeast Conference on September 15. MSU's non-league schedule that season opens with Western Illinois at home and a road game at South Dakota State before the Seahawks visit Bobcat Stadium on September 15. Game times and designations such as Homecoming for 2018 will be released at a later date.
The Bobcats play ancient Rocky Mountain Conference rival Wyoming on September 4, 2021 in Laramie. The Cowboys have beaten the Bobcats eight straight times, most recently a 21-10 decision in 2003, and leads the all-time series 13-6. The teams were RMAC members between Montana State's full-fledged entry in 1919 and Wyoming's departure in 1937. The Bobcats put together a five-game win streak against Wyoming between 1926 and 1930.
In 2022, Montana State plays its first=ever game against Oregon State on September 17. The Bobcats were scheduled to play in Corvallis in early 2001, but the game was cancelled in the aftermath of the 9/11 tragedy.
MSU is currently processing season ticket renewals, and the deadline is May 1. New season ticket-holders may reserve seats for a $100 deposit, which places purchasers on a priority waiting list. MSU opens its season on September 2 at Washington State, and the home opener is against South Dakota State on September 9 in Bobcat Stadium.
