Grand Canyon captured the opening doubles point and took three singles matches en route to a hard-fought 4-3 win over the Montana State women’s tennis team, Friday afternoon at the Paseo Racquet Club.
Grand Canyon captured the opening doubles point and took three singles matches en route to a hard-fought 4-3 win over the Montana State women's tennis team, Friday afternoon at the Paseo Racquet Club.
The Antelopes won at Nos. 1 and 3 doubles. MSU's No. 2 tandem of Jessica Brycki and Angelina Phillippova posted a 7-5 victory over GCU's Alexandra Petrzalkov and Kylie Waschuk.
Grand Canyon pushed its advantage to 3-0 with wins at Nos. 1 and 5 singles, before Bobcat junior Molly Crum got MSU on the board with a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Waschuk. The Antelopes secured the match at No. 3 singles, before Laura Middel and Philippova each won in three-set fashion to close the final score to 4-3.
The Bobcats will play Northern Arizona and Emory on Saturday in Flagstaff.
