The Montana State women's tennis team won the first match of the day, but couldn't keep the momentum going in a 4-0 loss to Nevada, Saturday afternoon in The Biggest Little City in the World.
MSU's No. 3 doubles tandem of Linda Vink and Shelby Cerkovnik defeated Nevada's Sara Korzeniecki and Delaney Phanco 6-3, before the Wolf Pack came back for wins at Nos. 1 and 2 doubles to capture the opening.
UN then swept matches at Nos. 1, 2, and 4 singles for the victory. Three matches went unfinished with two going in the way of the Bobcats. Cerkovnik held a 6-1, 4-4 advantage, while Molly Crum held a 6-2, 3-2 at lead No. 6 singles before the Wolf Pack secured the win.
"Nevada has some talent and grit on their team," said MSU head coach Jon Reeves. "I was very proud of the fitght and competitiveness of the girls all day. I was a happy for the effort Molly put in during the match with UN. She simply willed her way to taking a solid set and a half lead."
