
Bobcat Harriers Pass out Team Awards

Montana State newcomers Alyssa Snyder and Diego Leon, in addition to three returns were named Bobcat cross country award winners, announced head cross country coach Lyle Weese.
TOP GUN AWARD
Alyssa Snyder (FR/Coalville, UT) - Snyder kicked off her collegiate running career, leading the 'Cats in four-of-five races this fall. The Coalville, UT native found her best finish at the Montana Invitational in Missoula, where she placed second overall and paced the 'Cats to a first place finish. In her debut meet, she ran her fastest 3-mile race in 17:33.51, good enough for third place.
Diego Leon (JR-Transfer/Hartnell College/Hollister, CA) - Leon made the transition from junior college to Division I cross country with no issues. Despite recovering from an injury early on in the season, Leon went on to lead MSU three-of-five meets and tabbed two top ten finishes. The junior-transfer clocked his fastest 8K at Pre-National meet in Louisville, Kentucky, where he finished in 24:59.3. Leon went on to place 18th at the Conference championships, leading the team to a 7th place finish.
MOST IMPROVED
Louisa Serpe (SO/Boise, ID) - Serpe found her way into the top 20 in two different races, helping the 'Cats to a second and first place finish at the MSU Invite and UM Invitational. The sophomore recorded her best result in the first meet of the season at Bridger Creek Golf Course with a time of 17:58.42. At the Pre-National's meet in Louisville, KY, the Boise, ID native placed second on the team and 223 overall among the top runners in the country.
Kaylee Schmitz (JR/O'Fallon, IL) - Schmitz remained a constant competitor for MSU this fall, placing in the top 15 two, with one top 10 finish. The junior clocked her best race at the MSU Invitational with a time of 17:52.04, good eoough for 13th place. At the UM Invite, Schmitz placed sixth overall, helping the 'Cats sweep in Missoula. At the conference championships, Schmitz placed 24th overall at a 19:07.1 pace.
Ethan Wilhelm (SR/Bozeman, MT) - Wilhelm began his senior season, recording two of his best finishes in his Bobcat career. The Bozeman native crossed the finish line in 26:35.61 at the MSU Invite, placing 12th overall. The following week he placed 18th at the UM Invite, clocking a 25:59.30 pace. He finished 43rd at the conference championships, recording the teams third fastest time in route to a 7th place team finish.
