The Montana State women’s tennis swept its weekend Big Sky Conference road swing with a 5-2 victory over Idaho State, Friday afternoon in Pocatello.

The Montana State women's tennis team swept its weekend Big Sky Conference road swing with a 5-2 victory over Idaho State, Friday afternoon in Pocatello.

Much like its 5-2 victory over Weber State on Thursday, the Bobcats captured the opening doubles points, before taking four of six singles matches for the win.

“We're on a good roll right now,” said MSU head coach Denise Albrecht. “I thought everyone played well. This is the time of the season where we need to start pushing ourselves to play even better. It's always good to get a couple of victories on the road in league play.”

Against ISU, the Bobcats received stellar play at Nos. 1 and 3 singles. Playing at the top spot, Char Hjalmarsson posted a 6-4, 6-2 win over Katharina Marsela, while Paulina Lopez registered a straight set 6-1, 6-0 victory over Rilee Moorhead at No. 3 singles.

Hjalmarsson and Lopez also combined at No. 1 doubles, where the tandem notched an 8-4 win over Marsela and Laura Porras.

Montana State will host No. 59 Sacramento State at 5 p.m. on Saturday night in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
