Montana State's first trip to the playoffs in four years features bye, home game
The reaction was one of satisfaction, as Montana State's 2010 Big Sky Champion football team learned on Sunday morning that it received the fourth seed and a first round bye in the upcoming NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision Playoffs.
"It was great to see our name right at the top of the automic qualifiers," said fourth-year Bobcat coach Rob Ash. "We're very excited about our seed because it reflects a great season by our players and coaches, and also the great support we've received from our fans."
Montana State hosts the winner of next Saturday's North Dakota State-Robert Morris game on December 4. Eastern Washington, the Big Sky's other playoff team, also earned a first round bye as an at-large entry, and hosts Southeast Missouri on December 4.
The Bobcats finished the regular season with a 9-2 mark, 8-1 in the Big Sky, after Saturday's 21-16 win over the Grizzlies in Missoula.
