
Bobcats Mourn Passing of Football Recruit

MSU football loses new member
Montana State University and Bobcat Athletics grieve the loss of Folabi Akanbi, a senior at Glenda Dawson High School in Pearland, Tex. Akanbi, who signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play football at MSU beginning next fall, died Wednesday. He was 17.
Bobcat coach Rob Ash: “Our hearts go out to Folabi's family and friends, and his teammates and coaches. He was a wonderful young man who captivated everyone he met, and had such an incredibly bright future. This tragedy leaves us without words to properly express our sorrow.”
Current Bobcat players and MSU Athletics staff members who met him during the recruiting process lauded Akanbi for his graciousness and intelligence. He will be missed, and the entire Bobcat Football family hold him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.
