Caleb Schreibeis lands another elite award
The careers of two Bobcat defensive linemen will feature at least one more game.
Seniors Caleb Schreibeis, an end from Billings, and tackle Zach Minter from Glendale, Ariz., are each officially slated to participate in post-season all-star games this month. Minter takes the stage Friday (Jan. 11) in the Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game in Tucson, while Schreibeis has officially accepted an invitation to play in the 88th East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 19.
Minter's appearance in the 2nd Casino Del Sol game comes in his home state, at Tucson's Kino Stadium. Kickoff is 7 pm on ESPN3. Minter suits up for the West squad, coached by Dick Tomey, and his teammates include star Cal Poly back Deonte Williams and Eastern Washington receiver Nick Edwards. In spite of battling injuries throughout the 2012 season, Minter earned All-Big Sky honors for the second straight season. He was a 2011 All-America.
The most decorated defensive player in Bobcat history, Schreibeis received last season's Buck Buchanan Award as the top defensive player in the FCS. He also earned All-Big Sky and consensus All-America honors. The East-West Shrine Game kicks off at 2 pm MT on the NFL Network on Jan. 19, and benefits Shriners Hospitals for Children, an international pediatric specialty health care system.
