Bobcat senior becomes consensus All-America
After a whirlwind week that included 17 hours in Philadelphia while receiving the 2012 Buchanan Award, Schreibeis added another honor to his impressive and growing resume on Wednesday when he was selected to the Walter Camp Football Championship Subdivision All-America Team.
The 6-2, 252 senior from Billings West, who on Monday received the Buchanan Award as the most outstanding defensive player in the FCS in Philadelphia, landed on his third All-America team of the post-season with selection to the Camp squad. Schreibeis forced a nation-leading eight fumbles last season, with 12.5 quarterback sacks.
Schreibeis, who was also a first team selection on the Associated Press and Sports Network teams, joins linebacker Jody Owens and quarterback DeNarius McGhee as Bobcat All-Americas this year. He was also named CoSIDA Capital One Region 7 Academic All-America. The Camp award helps cap an incredible rise from walk-on in 2008 to consensus All-America status and one of the most decorated players in MSU history as a senior.
