A look at MSU's win over Portland State last weekend
Montana State's win against Portland State Saturday was historic for Bobcat coach Rob Ash. MSU's sixth-year head coach…
* Won his 224th career game, 43rd-most in college football history and tied for 15th among active coaches
* Won his 48th game as Montana State's head coach, breaking Sonny Holland's school record
* Led MSU to its third consecutive nine-win season, which has never occurred previously in school history
* Led MSU to its 20th conference win since the beginning of 2010, the most victories in the Big Sky in that time

PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
Offense – QB DeNarius McGhee (6-0, 210, Jr, Euless, TX)
DeNarius McGhee posted a single-game pass efficiency rating of 262.87 in Montana State's 65-30 win over Portland State on Saturday. McGhee threw four touchdown passes without an interception, completing 12 of his 17 pass attempts for 232 yards. McGhee engineered scoring drives on nine of his 11 full possessions, including nine touchdowns, and now has 2,479 passing yards and 21 touchdown passes during his junior season.
Defense – DE Caleb Schreibeis (6-3, 252, Sr, Billings, MT)
Caleb Schreibeis registered seven tackles against Portland State, a season-high for the senior defensive end from Billings, two of them sacks, and Schreibeis forced two Portland State fumbles to raise his total in that category this season to a school-record seven. That total also leads the nation, and his 11 sacks on the season is also among the top five marks in the FCS. Schreibeis made the first big defensive play of Saturday's game came on Portland State's second drive. On third-and-14, Schreibeis sacked Vikings quarterback Kieran McDonagh, forcing a fumble that was recovered by Brad Daly. MSU scored on the ensuing possession to give the Bobcats a 10-0 lead. Schreibeis also forced a fumble on a second quarter sack of McDonagh. Schreibeis' two forced fumbles in a game ties the MSU school record, his seven in a season is a new school record, and his career total of seven ties the Bobcat career mark.
Special Teams – Shawn Johnson (5-9, 172, So, Bakersfield, CA)
Shawn Johnson's 72-yard punt return for a touchdown Saturday was the first by a Bobcat since Kory Austin's vs. Dixie State in 2007. The return was the first of Johnson's career. Johnson also returned a kickoff 27 yards, and his 54 yard touchdown reception and one rushing yard gave him 155 all-purpose yards on the afternoon.

• Montana State celebrated Senior Day Saturday by handing the school's Class of 2012 its 35th win in the past four years, the most by a group in school history
• A week after failing to throw a touchdown pass for the first time in his Bobcat career, McGhee's 35th game as MSU's starting quarterback produced four scoring strikes – the fifth four-TD game of his career
