As a junior, Weinmann placed 11th in the Washington state 4A cross country championships and recently broke the North Kitsap High School record in the 3200 meter run, a record that had been standing for 20 years.
She is coached by former Bobcat Alex Frank, whose 800 performance at MSU in 2000 is fourth on the MSU all-time top ten list.
“We're really excited to have Annelise coming to MSU,” Kennedy said. “It's great when you get an athlete that's coached by one of your former athletes. She's a good student in addition to a talented distance runner and we think she'll be a good fit for us and MSU.”
