Bobcats Climb to Finish Fifth at Drake Invite

Final Recap:
Montana State golfers saved their best team golf for the last day of the competition at the Monterey Invite in Carmel, California Sunday. Kelly O'Brien, Molly Dorans and Elise Nelsen all had sub-80 rounds to push the team from sixth to a fifth place finish at the event.
Freshman O'Brien finished in a tie for 12th among the 52 golfers. Lamar University won the invite that was hosted by Drake University, who finished second. Amy Anderson of North Dakota State fired a three-round 217 to win by six storkes.
Next on MSU's schedule is the Wyoming Cowgirl Invite April 4-5, which will be played on the same course as the Big Sky Conference Championships two weeks later in Chandler, Arizona.

Day Two Recap:
Montana State golfers remained in sixth place after day two of the Monterey Invite in Carmel, California. Leslie McGetrick, who was in fifth place after day one, had a second round 86 to drop to a tie for 12th place in the standings. Teammate Kelly O'Brien led the Cats in scoring on day two with a 79 to jump to a tie for 12th with McGetrick. The final 18 holes of the event, hosted by Drake University, will be Saturday.
