Wintery conditions don't deter Bobcats from better scores
Montana State freshman Molly Dorans shaved eight strokes off her first round score to shoot a 75 at the second round of the Ron Moore Invite outside Denver. The 'Cats rose to 11th place in the team standings.
All Bobcat golfers improved their scores from the first round. Freshman Melissa Hultstrand shot a 77 on day two, improving from a day one 90.
“It was still cold and stormy here, but nothing like the weather we had yesterday with rain, sleet, hail and wind—temperatures in the forties,” head coach Leslie Spalding said. “They played much better today. I am so excited about this group.”
All Bobcat scoring golfers shot sub-80 rounds in today's cold and windy conditions. The final round of the tournament will be played tomorrow.
Hannah Burke of Baylor shot a second day 71 to take the lead in the tournament. Host University of Denver leads the team standings.
