Bobcat Spikers Finish 2-1 at Bradley Tournament

Hendry and Albiston Pace Bobcats at CEFCU Classic
PEORIA, Ill. – The Montana State volleyball team finished with a 2-1 record at the CEFCU-Bradley University Classic after defeating UTEP in five games, before dropping a 3-1 decision to BU on Saturday.
Montana State's (2-7) best win of the season came virtue of a 20-25, 25-15, 25-18, 24-26, 15-13 win over the Miners. UTEP (6-3) entered the match having lost just two matches on the season to national power
Sophomore Rachelle Allen paced the Bobcats with a career-high 19 kills and 19 digs. Also contributing was senior middle blocker Kyla Hendry, who tallied 15 kills, a .423 attack mark and three blocks.
Taylor Faught dished out 36 assists for MSU before going down with a sprained ankle. True freshman Jennifer Lundquist finished out the final two sets and posted 17 assists.
Defensively, Bobcat libero Meghan Albiston led all players with a match-high 25 digs.

In the final match of the tournament, Bradley recorded a 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 25-18 victory over MSU.
The Bobcats were led by Hendry with 12 kills, a .429 attack mark and three blocks. Jodeen Rademacher also chipped in eight kills and Lundquist, who started her first collegiate match, ended with 40 assists, 14 digs and five kills.
For the second consecutive match, Albiston led all players with 23 digs. Also in double-figure saves for MSU was Allen with 11 digs.
“It was an all-out battle,” Schaub said. “I thought both teams played extremely well.”
For their efforts, Albiston and Hendry were named to the CEFCU Classic All-Tournament team.
