MSU sophomore Katie Bussey was named Big Sky Conference Player of the Week.
Montana State’s Katie Bussey has earned the first Big Sky Player of the Week honors of the 2009-10 season. She was awarded for games played the week of November 10-17.
The sophomore guard led the Bobcats to two road wins over Cal State Bakersfield and Pacific in the first week of play. She averaged 24. 0 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Bussey, the 2008-09 Big Sky Freshman of the Year, posted a career-high 30 points in a 91-79 win over Pacific on Sunday. She connected on 12-of-20 from the field and 6-of-8 from 3-point territory.
In Montana State’s season opener at Cal State Bakersfield on Friday, Bussey notched 18 points and added three rebounds, three assists and two steals. She went 7-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-5 from beyond the arc as the Bobcats beat the Roadrunners 78-76.
The native of Alamosa, Colorado shot an impressive 69.2 percent from the 3-point line, and 61.3 percent from field goal range last week.
